As water resources become scarce, we should be encouraging home and condo owners to replace their thirsty lawns with landscapes that require less water. It might be nice to have a demonstration garden with such plants in a central and heavily visited area such as the civic area. It could have benches and signs and be a nice place for a picnic as well.
